Orange Warning - Winter Storm

A period of blizzard-like conditions will continue. Locations: Bay of Exploits and Bonavista North. Further snowfall: 15 to 20 cm, with locally higher amounts possible. Maximum wind gusts tonight: northwesterly 130 km/h. Time span: continuing until Tuesday morning. Similar storms in the past have caused: - school closures and cancellations of community activities - disruptions to public services Remarks: Snow at times heavy combined with intensifying northwesterly winds is resulting in blizzard-like conditions with near-zero visibility in blowing snow. Conditions will begin to improve late overnight. Secure outdoor objects that could be lifted by strong winds. Take steps to be prepared for extended utility outages.
